About Bangkok

Bangkok or Krung thep (which is a shortened version of the Thai name and means "City of Angels") is the capital of Thailand since 1782. The city has about 10 million registered residents and an estimated few million unregistered.

Bangkok is the world's hottest capital city, with an average of over 30 degrees celsius. To move around in the city you can use car, taxi, bus, sky train, subway or the traditional wheel motor cycle Tuk Tuk. Bangkok has several large shopping centers (MBK, Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery Center, Siam Center and the Emporium are a few examples) and Chatuchak market is said to be the world's largest market of its kind.
